Justice for Mia Fundraising T-Shirt

My friends Cassandra and Randy are currently living a parent's worst nightmare.

On the first of September, they found out that their 13-year-old daughter had been allegedly sexually assaulted by her recreational sports coach.

This man was arrested and has been charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child. He is currently out on bond awaiting trial, with the first court date at the end of October.

Immediately after finding out about this, due to obvious safety concerns and her daughter's drastic mental health decline, Cassandra quit her job to be with her daughter.

Randy, the father of the child, has been a stay-at-home dad since Hurricane Helene devastated their area in western North Carolina in September 2024 when his workplace laid off most employees.

Mia has been glued to her parents' sides since this happened, and with this man being out on bond, the family has deemed it to be in her best interest that neither work outside the home at this point, in an attempt to keep her as safe as possible.

Luckily, the family does have some savings they can rely on for the time being, but we all know in this economy that will not last long, especially not knowing how long the trial process will continue until this man is convicted and imprisoned. Until that happens, I don't think Mia or her family will be sleeping well at night, knowing this monster is just mere blocks away from them at any time.

Mia and her family are also seeking trauma counseling in an effort for their family to heal and recover from this tragedy. The cost of this counseling is not covered by insurance, and the family is paying out of pocket. At Mia's young age, they are doing everything they can to make sure she is healed from the emotional scars this man has inflicted.

Please extend your prayers for this dear, sweet girl and her family during this time. May the Lord shelter them from any harm and ease their hearts, surround them with His glory, and help us all get Justice for Mia.

I'd also like everyone to pray for any other victims this monster has affected that we are unaware of as of now. May the Lord give them the strength and courage to speak out and speak up and keep them safe from harm. Amen.
